Welcome: Staying at U Brany is a great way to experience what Prague must have been like hundreds of years ago. The house was originally called The Gate House, because of its location next to Prague Castle. It was built in the 15th century, and in the cellar you can see the remains of the Gothic period of architecture. Today, U Brany is fully reconstructed, and well equipped with all the modern amenities.

Location: U Brany has a fortunate location - right next to Prague Castle. The Castle itself is placed on a hill with great views of the river and the city. The whole area is beautiful and very historic, with many restaurants and shops. Trams run past the Castle regularly, and these travel to city centre in about 10 minutes, and the trip is even shorter with Metro.

Rooms: U Brany is made up of ten suites, each with its own private bathroom, satellite TV, direct dial telephones, mini-bar, and a safe. The largest of these is an attic apartmen that overlooks Prague castle.

Restaurants: The restaurant is in a building from the 14th century. As early as the 16th century it was a well known pub - "U Strahovské Brány" or "At the Strahov Gate." Guests can arrange for their groups to dine in the drawing room. The restaurant serves fondue and the bar features 35 different kinds of whiskey. Live piano music and an excellent wine cellar comlpete the picture.
